Station #7 - Jesus Cares For His Mother

Read: John 19: 25-27

Reflect: Witnessing Jesus’ suffering is his mother. What agony she must have been feeling. Jesus sees that she is there and in the midst of his pain, makes sure she is tended to by asking his disciple John to care for her when he is gone. 

Can you think of a time when you have been cared for by someone who you know is suffering themselves? Or when you have sought to care for someone else when you have been in pain? These are powerful and deeply meaningful experiences. Thank Jesus for his example, and for your own encounters. 

Pray: Jesus, you cared so selflessly for those you loved, even as you were dying. Thank you for those who have cared for me while they have been suffering. Please help me to follow your lead and do the same for those I love. Amen.
