Station #5 - Jesus Is Stripped Of His Clothing

Read: John 19: 23-25

Reflect: Jesus is stripped of his clothing; his dignity replaced by shame. We’re reminded of the shame that Adam and Eve experienced when they were naked in the Garden of Eden. And the shame that our sin causes us to experience. Jesus took on that shame in order to restore us back to dignity and wholeness, and bring us back into right relationship with God once and for all.  

Can you identify where your decisions to turn from God have caused you to experience shame? Can you offer that shame to Jesus? He wants to restore you to wholeness.  

Pray: Jesus, you endured humiliation and the loss of dignity for my sake, so that I might have my dignity restored. I offer to you now the places in my life where I feel shame and the need for restoration. I need your gracious healing. Amen
